Prepare the Machine

  1. Home XYZ.
  2. Lower the Z-axis by 300 mm.
  3. Wait until the build chamber, build platform, and hot ends are at room temperature.
  4. Open the build chamber door.
  5. Push the E-stop button.
  6. Turn the power OFF with the ON/OFF switch found on the front panel of the machine.
  7. Turn the main disconnect switch in the OFF (O) position.

Clean Cold Plenum Fans and Filter

Wait until all machine components are at room temperature before you continue. Some machine components can be hot if the machine was recently used. Failure to do so can cause injuries.

Do not use compressed air to clean the fans. The use of compressed air can cause damage to machine component(s).

Clean Rear Fans

Rear Fans Location Rear Fans Location - Open

  1. Use the 3 mm hex key to loosen the two rear exhaust filter grill screws (1).
  2. Fold down the rear exhaust filter grill (2).
  3. Use a damp lint-free rag to remove contaminants found on the rear exhaust grill (2) and the four fans (3).
  4. Make sure that the rear exhaust grill (2) and the fours fans (3) are clean and do not have unwanted contaminants.
  5. Close the rear exhaust grill (2).
  6. Use the 3 mm hex key to tighten the two rear exhaust filter grill screws (2).

Clean Front Filter and Fans

The front filter does not require to be replaced.

Front Cold Plenum

  1. Use a damp lint-free rag to remove contaminants found on the exterior side of the plenum intake filter (4).
  2. Press the cold plenum hood release button located on the right side of the machine.
  3. Open the cold plenum hood.
  4. Use a damp lint-free rag to remove contaminants on the six fans (5) found on interior side of the plenum intake filter.
  5. Make sure that the intake filter and the six fans are clean and do not have unwanted contaminants.

Test and Return to Service

  1. Close the cold plenum hood.
  2. Make sure that you remove all the tools from the machine enclosure.
  3. Close the build chamber door.
  4. Turn the main disconnect switch in the ON (1) position.
  5. Turn the power ON with the ON/OFF switch found on the rear panel of the machine.
  6. Release the E-stop button.
  7. Home XYZ.
