Clean Build Plate and Chamber

Allow all machine components to reach room temperature prior to proceeding further. Failure to allow components to cool down will result in thermal injury (burns) to personnel.

Polymer material is purged from the nozzle(s) after each automatic tool change when dual extrusion prints are in effect. The toolhead(s) cleans the nozzle(s) on the wiper brush(es) and the polymer material falls onto the bed and at the bottom of the build chamber.
• To inspect the wiper brush and/or wiper blade, refer to Wiper Brush and Wiper Blade Inspection.
• To replace the wiper brush and/or wiper blade, refer to Replace Wiper Brush and Wiper Blade.

  1. Use the broom to remove the unwanted material from the build plate.
  2. Use the isopropyl alcohol and lint-free rags to clean the build plate.
  3. Use the vacuum to remove the unwanted material from the bottom of the build chamber. If a vacuum is not available, use the broom and pan.
