Prepare the Machine

  1. Home XYZ.
  2. Lower the Z-axis by 200 mm.
  3. Push the E-stop button.
  4. Wait until the build chamber, build plate and hot ends are at room temperature.
  5. Manually move the toolhead from the end stop to give sufficient access to the microswitch.

Remove the Microswitches

Remove Microswitch

  1. Use the No. 2 Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws (1) and the two washers (2) from the microswitch (3).
  2. With the tape and the marker, tag the two wires (4) that connect to the microswitch (3).
  3. Disconnect the two wires from the microswitch.
  4. Remove the microswitch from the machine.
  5. If required, do steps 1 to 4 with the other X-axis microswitch.

Install the Microswitches

  1. Connect the two wires (4) to the microswitch (3).

    Use the tags identified during the removal to connect the wires to the proper terminals on the microswitch.

  2. Put the microswitch in position on the toolhead.

    Do not tighten the screws too much. The microswitch is fragile. Failure to do so can damage the components.

  3. Use the No. 2 Phillips head screwdriver to install the two screws (1) and the two washers (2) on the microswitch (3).
  4. If required, do steps 1 to 3 with the other X-axis microswitch.

Test and Return to Service

  1. Release the E-stop button.
  2. Home XYZ.
  3. Make sure that the microswitches operate correctly. Refer to the microswitches inspection.
