The procedure that follows gives the instructions on how replace the PT100 Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) sensor.

To help with machine reliability, AON3D recommends that the two PT100 RTD sensors be replaced as a pair.

Personal Protective Equipment

Prepare the Machine

  1. Remove the heater block assembly. Refer to Replace Heater Block Assemblies.

Replace the RTD Sensor

Heater Block Assembly RTD Sensor Replacement

  1. Use the soft bristle brush to remove any contaminants that are buildup on the PT100 RTD, if necessary.
  2. Use a clean lint-free rag and isopropyl alcohol to clean any solvents and/or residue from the RTD sensor head.
  3. Use the 7 mm wrench to remove the PT100 RTD sensor.
  4. Discard PT100 RTD sensor.
  5. Clean the surface of the heater block assembly to remove any unwanted material.
  6. Install the new PT100 RTD sensor into the heater block assembly.
  7. Use the 7 mm wrench to lightly tighten the PT100 RTD sensor into heater block assembly. Do not tighten too much.

Test and Return to Service

  1. Install the heater block assembly. Refer to Replace Heater Block Assemblies.
