Prepare the Machine

  1. Home XYZ.
  2. Lower the Z-axis by 300 mm.
  3. Open the build chamber door.
  4. Push the E-stop button.
  5. Turn the power OFF with the ON/OFF switch found behind the machine.
    • For AON M2+ (CE) machines: Disconnect power to the machine from the local supply disconnecting device.
    • For AON M2+ (R-NZ), AON M2+, AON-M2 2020 and AON-M2 machines: Disconnect the main power cord from the receptacle.

Dangerous voltages continue to be found in the electrical panel when the ON/OFF switch is set to OFF. Disconnect the main power cord from the machine while maintenance is done. Failure to do so can cause electric shock.

  6. Wait until the build chamber, build platform and hot ends are at room temperature.

Replace the Wiper Brush

Wait until all the machine components are at room temperature before you continue. Some machine components can be hot if the machine was recently used. Failure to do so can cause injuries.

The wiper brush bracket can be either plastic or metal.

The new wiper brush clamp does not have a silicone grommet. This helps secure the wiper brush to the nozzle cleaning bracket.

Remove the Wiper Brush

Replace Wiper Brush

  1. Manually move the selected toolhead to the center of the X-axis.
  2. Use the 3mm hex key to remove the components that follow from the nozzle cleaning bracket:
    • One screw
    • One washer
    • One clamp
    • One wiper brush.
  3. Discard the components that follow:
    • Wiper brush
    • Clamp
    • Wiper brush.
  4. Do steps 1 to 3 for the adjacent wiper brush, if necessary.

Install and Adjust the New Wiper Brush

Wiper Brush Position

  1. Install the screw through the wiper brush bracket and into the nozzle cleaning bracket. Do not tighten the screw at this point in time.
  2. Install the new wiper brush into the wiper brush bracket. Do not tighten the two screws at this point in time.
  3. Carefully move the selected toolhead nozzle over the wiper brush.
  4. Adjust the height of the wiper brush until it contacts the flat surface of the nozzle.

If you have a plastic bracket, do not tighten the wiper brush bracket screw too much. Failure to do so can cause damage to the plastic bracket.

Make sure that the wiper brush is set to the correct height. A toolhead collision can occur if the wiper brush height is not set correctly.

  5. Use the 3 mm hex key to tighten the screw in that clamp. Do not tighten too much.
  6. Carefully move the selected toolhead nozzle over the wiper brush. Make sure that the wiper brush contacts the nozzle correctly. If the nozzle does not contact the wiper brush correctly, do the steps that follow:
    • Use the 3 mm hex key to loosen the screw and do steps 3 to 6 until the the nozzle contacts the wiper brush correctly.
  7. Use the 3 mm hex to make that the two screws are tight.
  8. Do steps 1 to 7 for the adjacent wiper brush, if necessary.

Replace the Wiper Blade

Wait until all the machine components are at room temperature before you continue. Some machine components can be hot if the machine was recently used. Failure to do so can cause injuries.

The wiper blade bracket can be either plastic or metal.

If you have a plastic bracket, do not tighten the wiper blade screws too much. Failure to do so can damage the threads.

Make sure that the wiper blade is set to the correct height. A toolhead collision can occur if the wiper blade height is not set correctly.

  4. Use the 2.5 mm hex key to tighten the two screws to secure the wiper blade. Do not tighten too much.
  5. Carefully move the selected toolhead nozzle over the wiper brush. Make sure that the wiper blade contacts the nozzle correctly. If the nozzle does not contact the wiper blade correctly, do the steps that follow:
