Summary

The procedures that follow gives instructions on how to inspect the machine when ShockWatch® 2 indicator windows are red, and/or if either one of the two TiltWatch® Plus indicators show(s) a tilt greater than 30 degrees.

Prepare the Machine

  1. Unbox the machine. Refer to Unbox the Machine.
  2. Power off the machine.
  3. Push the E-stop button.
  4. Wait until the build chamber, build platform and hot ends are at room temperature.

Examine the Machine

  1. Make sure that following items at the rear of the machine are free of damage:
    • Vacuum Pump
    • Coolant Pump
    • Radiator
    • Filament sensors
  2. Make sure the external panels are free of damage.
  3. Make sure the Graphical User Interface (GUI) is free of damage.
  4. Open the door using the manual release. Refer to How to Open the Door.
  5. Manually push the Y-axis gantry to the back of the machine. Make sure that:
    1. The left and the right Y-axis idlers turn smoothly.
    2. There are no unusual noises and/or vibrations from the left and the right Y-axis idlers.
    3. The movement of the Y-axis belt is smooth and does not rub with machine components.
  6. Manually pull the Y-axis gantry to the front of the machine. Make sure that:
    1. The left and the right Y-axis idlers turn smoothly.
    2. There are no unusual noises and/or vibrations from the left and the right Y-axis idlers.
    3. The movement of the Y-axis belt is smooth and does not rub with machine components.
  7. Do steps 5 and 6 three times.
  8. Manually pull the left toolhead opposite side of the machine. Make sure that:
    1. There are no unusual noises and/or vibrations.
    2. The movement of the X-axis belt is smooth and does not rub with machine components.
  9. Manually pull the left toolhead to its parked position. Make sure that:
    1. There are no unusual noises and/or vibrations.
    2. The movement of the X-axis belt is smooth and does not rub with machine components
  10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 with the right toolhead.

Test the Electromechanical Components

  1. Power up the machine. Refer to Power Up the Machine.
  2. Release the E-stop button. Make sure that the system connects.
  3. Locate the door open indicator at the top right of the GUI.
  4. Close the build chamber door.
  5. Make sure that the door open indicator goes away on the GUI.
  6. Press Open on the GUI to open the door.
  7. Make sure that the GUI shows the door open indicator.
  8. Test the microswitches. Refer to Test the microswitches.
  9. Test the probes assemblies. Refer to Inspect and Test Flex Hinge Probe Assemblies.
  10. Close the build chamber door.
  11. Home XYZ.
  12. Make sure that the XYZ axes move smoothly.
  13. Push the E-stop button. Make sure that the system disconnects.
