Personal Protective Equipment

Prepare the Machine

Make sure that there are no prints on the build surface. Remove print(s) before the procedure that follows is started. Failure to do so can cause a collision and cause damage to the machine component(s).

  1. Home XYZ.
  2. Lower the Z-axis by 300 mm.
  3. Move the X-axis gantry to the rear of the of build platform.
  4. Open the build chamber door.
  5. Push the E-stop button.
  6. Turn the power OFF with the ON/OFF switch found behind the machine.
    • For AON M2+ (CE) machines: Disconnect power to the machine from the local supply disconnecting device.
    • For AON-M2, AON-M2 2020, AON M2+ (R-NZ), and AON M2+ machines: Disconnect the main power cord from the receptacle.
  7. Wait until the build chamber, build platform and hot ends are at room temperature.

Remove the Y-Axis Microswitches

Wait until all machine components are at room temperature before you continue. Some machine components can be hot if the machine was recently used. Failure to do so can cause injuries.

Illustration Example

  1. Use the tape and the marker to correctly identify the two wires (1) that connect to the Y-axis microswitch (2).
  2. Carefully disconnect the two wires (1) from the Y-axis microswitch (2). Illustration Example
  3. Use the 5/64 inch hex key and the 1/4 inch wrench to remove the components that follow:
    • the two screws (3)
    • the two Teflon™ sleeve washers (5)
    • the two washers (6)
    • the two crush nuts (4).
  4. Discard the two Teflon™ sleeve washers (5) and the two crush nuts (4).
  5. Remove the Y-axis microswitch (2) from the machine.
  6. Discard the Y-axis microswitch (2).
  7. Do steps 1 to 6 for the Y-axis microswitch found on the adjacent side, if necessary.

Install the New Y-Axis Microswitches

  1. Put the new Y-axis microswitch (2) in position on the endstop bracket.

    Do not tighten the fasteners too much. Failure to do so can cause damage the Y-axis microswitches and/or machine component(s).

  2. Use the 5/64 inch hex key and the 1/4 inch wrench to install the components that follow:
    • the two screws (3)
    • the two new Teflon™ sleeve washers (5)
    • the two washers (6)
    • the two new crush nuts (4).
  3. Use the identification label(s) to connect the two wires (1) to the correct Y-axis microswitch (2) terminals. Make sure that the two wires (1) are correctly connected.
  4. Remove and discard the identification label(s).
  5. Do steps 1 to 4 for the Y-axis microswitch found on the adjacent side, if necessary.

Test and Return to Service

  1. Make sure that you remove all the tools from the build chamber.
  2. Close the build chamber door.
    • For AON M2+ (CE) machines: Connect power to the machine from the local supply disconnecting device.
    • For AON-M2, AON-M2 2020, AON M2+ (R-NZ), and AON M2+ machines: Connect the main power cord to the receptacle.
  3. Turn the power ON with the ON/OFF switch found on the rear panel of the machine.
  4. Release the E-stop button.
  5. Home XYZ.
  6. Make sure that the Y-axis microswitches operate correctly:
