The procedure that follows gives the instructions on how to replace the two probe microswitches found on the AON-M2 2020 and AON-M2 machines.

To help with machine reliability, AON3D recommends to change the two probe microswitches as a pair.

Personal Protective Equipment

Prepare the Machine

Make sure that there are no prints on the build surface. Remove print(s) before the procedure that follows is started. Failure to do so can cause a collision and cause damage to the machine component(s).

  1. Home XYZ.
  2. Lower the Z-axis by 300 mm.
  3. Push the E-stop button.
  4. Open the build chamber door.
  5. Turn the power OFF with the ON/OFF switch found behind the machine.
  6. Disconnect the main power cord from the receptacle.
  7. Wait until the build chamber, build platform and hot ends are at room temperature.

Remove the Probe Microswitches

Wait until all machine components are at room temperature before you continue. Some machine components can be hot if the machine was recently used. Failure to do so can cause injuries.

Remove Wires Remove Fasteners

  1. Manually move the selected toolhead to center of the X-axis.
  2. Use the tape and the marker to correctly identify the two wires (1) that connect to the probe microswitch (2).
  3. Disconnect the two wires (1) from the probe microswitch (2).
  4. Use the 1.5 mm hex key to remove the two screws (3) and the two washers (4) from the probe microswitch (2).
  5. Remove the microswitch from the probe microswitch bracket.
  6. Discard the probe microswitch (2).
  7. Do steps 1 to 6 for the adjacent toolhead, if necessary.

Install the New Probe Microswitches

  1. Put the new probe microswitch (2) in position on the probe microswitch bracket.

    Do not tighten the two screws (3) too much. Screws are too tight can cause damage to the microswitch(es), which can cause collisions of machine component(s).

  2. Manually install the two screws (3) and the two washers (4) through the probe microswitch (2), and into probe microswitch bracket.
  3. Use the 1.5 mm hex key to tighten the two screws (3). Do not tighten too much.
  4. Use the identification tags to correctly install the two wires (1) onto the probe microswitch (2) terminals.
  5. Remove and discard of the identification label(s).
  6. Probe the print surface. Refer to the Auto Bed Leveling procedure.
  7. Do steps 1 to 6 for the adjacent toolhead, if necessary.

Test and Return to Service

  1. Make sure that you remove all the tools from the build chamber.
  2. Close the build chamber door.
  3. Connect the main power cord to the receptacle.
  4. Turn the power ON with the ON/OFF switch found on the rear panel of the machine.
  5. Release the E-stop button.
  6. Home XYZ.
